15 Years of Research for a Definitive Cure for Type 1 Diabetes
The importance of research for a future without type 1 diabetes
For 15 years, the Italian Diabetes Foundation has supported independent scientific research to find a definitive cure for type 1 diabetes. FID supports three main areas of research: pancreatic islet transplants and the use of stem cells to cure those already affected, the study of the still partially unknown causes of the disease, and screenings to predict and attempt to stop the progression of the disease.
The Italian Diabetes Foundation continues to work tirelessly for a future free from type 1 diabetes through research, prevention, and public education.
The Italian Diabetes Foundation and L'Eroica
The Italian Diabetes Foundation (FID) will participate in the XXVII edition of L’Eroica, which will be held in Gaiole in Chianti. This will be the second year that FID has a dedicated space to welcome visitors. L’Eroica represents a valuable opportunity for FID to raise funds for research into a cure for type 1 diabetes. From October 3rd to 6th, all attendees can contribute by purchasing race bibs and visiting the Foundation's stand to learn more about the organization and type 1 diabetes. Additionally, it will be possible to make donations to support research or sign up as volunteers.
